It’s a hat trick…
… Although maybe not one I should be celebrating with such enthusiasm!
I have been to school every day this week with a replacement or forgotten item!
- Monday Mima – lunchbox
- Tuesday Enid – trainers
- Wednesday Billy – lost joggers
You see how it goes. I’m on first name terms with the lovely receptionist.
I’d be annoyed but as someone who also regularly forgets things and usually the thing, I need most! (Dyslexic short term memory problems!) I know that they will be annoyed with themselves, and me being irritated too won’t help. I have learnt that on the odd occasion this happens now we just have to go with it. Over at Dyslexics R US we do have brilliant strategies that usually work and catch forgotten things 99.9% of the time.
But I also know the last week of term when there is so much going on and we are all tired those strategies slip a bit. So, I make sure I factor time into my diary to allow for errors. If there are not any then that’s a bonus but if there are we just deal with them as they happen.
However, everyone better have everything they need for the next hour as I’m just about to cover up my ever growing grey hairs the forgotten items have created!
First world dyslexic mum problems are real!
