‘He is unrecognisable – attends school, engages, has made progress academically and is just walking taller, he is even helping other children in his class come to terms with their dyslexia diagnosis…’

Today’s feedback from a parent – I diagnosed dyslexia in their child in March.

My work here is DONE.

I am so privileged and lucky to have the skills to be able to do what I do and change people’s lives like this…

BUT in all honestly I didn’t nothing special! My part is minimal… all this kid needed was to understand how his brain worked and that he wasn’t stupid… far from it in fact.

Dyslexia gave him an indentity which made his life make sense, it made him feel resilient and able to cope.

EVERY CHILD SHOULD HAVE THAT RIGHT, it shouldn’t be a postcode lottery or a privilege for kids whose parents can afford it!

The system needs to change… maybe we then wouldn’t have as many exclusion or disengaged kids… post for another day!

But for now I am celebrating this lads success and my heart real happy that I have the skills to make the change for another human and that this has made their life easier!

Happy weekend everyone… I hope your days has felt as fulfilled as mine!
